TANZANIA TRAILS

NAIROBI/MANYARA/NGORONGORO/SERENGETI/NAIROBI

Day 1. Morning pickup from Nairobi drive through route 104A {Mombasa road} to Namanga. From Namanga drive to Arusha for lunch at the Olasiti Gardens. After lunch drive to Lake Manyara National park. The lake is situated along the great rift valley escarpment. If we are lucky we will get to see the Manyara lion well known for their tree climbing skills and other animals. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2. After breakfast proceed to Ngorongoro with picnic lunches, game drive in the crater. This park contains an impressive variety of wildlife including, elephants, black manned lion, zebra, hippo, hyena……. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3. Full game drive in the crater dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day4, 5, 6. After breakfast head to Serengeti park. These unending plains contain during the month of migration huge numbers of wildebeest. Anther Serengeti feature is the “Kopjos” massive Island of granite standing in a sea of grass. Here you spend three nights on full board at the lodge.

Day 7. After breakfast you drive to Seronera Air sprit for your flight to Arusha, which will take you back to Nairobi.

12- DAYS IN TANZANIA

Day 1/2. Arrive by overnight flight to Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha. Nestled in the heart of a coffee estate, your lodge boasts view of lake Duluti and Mount Meru.- Olasiti Garden Lodge

Day 3. Arusha/Tarangire national park

This morning travel by road to Tarangire National park and to your exclusive tented mobile campsite, which evoke the romance of a bygone era;while living under canvas, an authentic feeling pervades. Spend time lounging before a camp fire under the stars sipping cocktails while watching the African night wonder night unveil.

Day 4. Tarangeri National Park

Begin the day with a warm bush breakfast. take morning and afternoon game drives. From Boabab tree forests to swamp and acacia-punctuated plains. Look for wilderbeests, zebras and eland, along with sizable elephants population. Return to camp for overnight stay.

Day 5. Tarangire/ Lake Manyara

This morning you break camp and depart for Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the foot of a spectacular 2,000-foot escapment adorned with towering canopy of mahogany trees and giant fig, Lake Manyara is one of a chain of lakes in Africa’s Great Rift Valley.Enroute stop at the linguistically rich Mto wa Mbu(river of mosqiutos)- home to more than 90 tribes to peruse the market and Maasai handcrafts.

After settling down at your lodge, take a nature walk with a resident naturalist, look out from an observation post or take a dip in the pool.After lunch set out on a late afternoon game drive.

Day 6. Lake Manyara National Park/ Ngorongoro crater

Enroute Ngorongoro, stop at the Gibb’s Farm for  hearty lunch, and then proceed to your mobie tented camp at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Within the crater’s 100 squre-mile floor lives a fascinating microcosm of East African wildlife. The oldest and still the most exclusive way to take a sfari, sleeping under the African open sky, with intimate safari caravan travelling through glorious landcapes.

DAy 7. Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive down into the Ngorongoro Crater,one of the africa’s most unsual widlife areas and the largest unbroken ancient caldera in the world. Here you are likely to see the rare and elusive black rhinoceros and other wildlife. Relax over Wetu Adventures-hosted, gournet hot barbecue at a private, shaded picnic site, set amid a yellow acacia woodland.

Meanwhile watch while Maasai herdsmen with their cattle coest with wildlife as they have for centuries. Wile here visit a Maasai village and meet with elders who will give you an insight into the Maasai lifestyle and culture. This evening, the colourful attired Maasai put on a private, traditional dance performance for you.

Day 8. Ngorongoro Crater/ Serengeti National Park

Head to Serengeti National Park stopping at OLduvai Gorge, where the Leakey family unearthed among many fossils discories a skull identifying ma’s distant East African ancestor.Have a privately guided exploration of this compelling archaeological site. There is also a museum on the ground, where a lecture is given on the historical significance. Then proceed to Serengeti National park to your private camp.

Day 9/10. Serengeti National Park.

Famed throughout the world, the park’s 10,000 squre miles suppoort a myraid of wildlife, including leopards, hyena, cheetah, girraff topi and lions.Each year the Serengeti is also the scene of the great migration, atime when millions of wilderbessts and zebra make their annual trek in search of fresh grass.

Spend two days exploring the never ending savana plains, which also supports a wide variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. The savannah itself is yet another site to behold, with sausage tree, vine-like stranler fig and commiphora.

Day 11/12. Serengeti National Park/ Arusha

Braek camp after breakfast,say your goodbeys to the staff and depart via the vastness of the plains to Arusha. Spend the remaining of the afternoon at leisure, waiting for your next Safari destination.
